FW: " Volleyball Forearm Bump-pass "

A basic skill in volleyball is the "Forearm Bump-pass"…

It's needed to be successful, just like a car needs gas!

You don't have to be strong, and there's no need to jump…

And most volleyball players refer to it as the "Bump"!

First your feet are shoulder width; you assume an athletic stance…

Bending your knees slightly, will create a better chance!

Your weight is on the balls of your feet; bend forward at the hips…

It's all about positioning, so keep on reading these tips!

Arms relaxed and hanging down, body ready to react…

Get yourself in front of the ball; it doesn't have to be exact!

Don't interlock your fingers, as you bring your hands together…

Keep your elbows straight, and soon you'll feel the leather!

You'll create a nice "platform", when your thumbs point down…

Now shrug your shoulders, good position you have found!

The ball should hit your forearms, 'tween your elbows and wrists…

You'll become better faster, if you don't use your hands or fists!

Face the direction you're passing, and don't swing your arms…

It's not an elephant trunk, and it actually causes more harm!

Now, let the ball come to you, don't reach up to get it…

Your platform creates the angles; just let the ball hit it!

The only thing left is practice; it'll help you get over the hump…

The more you do, the better you get…and soon you'll master the bump!
